Remy had a busy weekend.
Friday his auntie Jewells volunteered to watch him so the hubby and I could
go on a date. It was so nice of
her!!!! We really needed that. So Phil and I went out for dinner and then
went to see Iron Man 3 while Rem hung out with his cousins.
Saturday morning I took Remy to his first parade. It was Syttende Mai Days in good ol
Woodville. It was pouring rain all
morning so I wasn’t even sure if we’d be able to go. It finally stopped raining around noon so we
decided to go! The rain cleared up
really fast and then it got super hot and muggy outside. Remy was pretty “eh” about the whole
experience. He didn’t seem to care. It maybe was partly because he was tired
since he hadn’t really napped before the parade. Either way, I don’t think he would have cared
too much. He does like to people watch
though. Maybe next year he’ll have more
fun.
Remy very ho-hum about the whole parade business.
Sunday we were out and about most of the day running
errands. It’s so nice to have Remy eating
less often, be able to sit in shopping carts and highchairs in restaurants. Makes it much easier to take him places. Now that he’s easier to cart around these
days we go out and about a lot more often!
Plus the fact that it’s finally spring time and not freezing anymore…
Remy also tried “finger food” for the first time the other
day. Well, he’s been eating puffs and
cherrios for a few weeks now but we tried a real meal of cooked carrots and
green beans the other day and he did ok.
He knows he needs to pick them up and put them in his mouth but isn’t
too excited about it. I think he enjoyed
grabbing little pieces more than eating because he didn’t eat a whole lot. Oh well, that was attempt number one and I’m
sure he’ll like it more and more as he gets used to it. Next we need to get him drinking out of a
sippy cup!
Spoiled much? And this is definitely not all of his toys. He prefers to sit and have all of them surrounding him. He likes to play with all of them. He picks one up, plays with it for a minute or two, then sees something better and goes for it.
