Ho Ho Ho & Boo Hoo Hoo

Remy’s first Christmas was my very last day of maternity leave.  How sad…  Christmas was lots of fun.  He’s obviously not old enough to open presents or even know what’s going on but it’s still fun to give him presents.  He got lots of clothes, books and a few toys.  Spoiled rotten he is!  We have one more Christmas celebration with my mom’s side of the family this weekend and then it’s all over.

Everything goes in his mouth these days!  One of Remy's new outfits he got from Santa.

Cuddling with his new toy. :)

I went back to work the day after Christmas and leaving him at daycare was one of the most difficult things I’ve had to do.  My very good friend is doing his daycare so that makes me feel better that I’m leaving him with someone I know and trust completely BUT it wasn’t ME spending my day with him and it was very very difficult to leave.  The waterworks started on Christmas and I cried all the way over to drop him off and all the way to work.  I was quite worried about how he’d do without me and apparently he’s just fine!  I probably miss him more than he misses me.  He’s taking a bottle just fine and taking plenty of naps.  I get pictures and updates throughout the day so that helps.  I miss him desperately but it’s getting a little bit easier each day that goes by.  Picking him up at 5:20 and only getting to spend a few hours with him before he goes to bed is difficult.  I sure wish there were more hours in the day!  But I’ve got to work so I can bring home the bacon…. Back to reality.  :(

Keep on Rolling

Remy rolled over for the first time today!  He was doing some tummy time and rolled from his tummy to his back.  I don't think he's able to roll from his back to his tummy yet though.  After he rolled over he had this look of surprise on his face like, what did I just do?!  Gosh I just love him to bits and pieces. :)

Toys, Toys, Toys!!

Remy has finally learned how to actually grab his toys with his tiny little hands!  The first thing he does is bring them to his mouth and suck on them.  It's amazing how one day he could care less about his toys and not understand that he can grab them and move them and the next day he picks them up and sticks them right in his mouth.  :)

Crib Time

Well, as promised, Remy slept in his crib up in his nursery for the first time this week.  I promised myself I would move him upstairs when he turned 10 weeks and I did.  I must say, it was more difficult than I thought.  I knew I'd be sad moving him to his nursery but not as sad as I was.  I cried a few times that day!  He's just so far away and he's growing up so fast.  Anyways, he did pretty good.  He woke up twice (which isn't unusual).  To be honest... I'm not even sure he cared.  It's not as big of a deal as I thought it would be having to go all the way upstairs to feed and change him when he wakes up.  It probably doesn't seem that bad because he usually only gets up one or two times.  Last night he actually didn't get up at all.  He slept for 10 straight hours.  I woke up when Phil was leaving and I was shoked!  I wouldn't cry if he kept this up. ;)

Isn't he sweet?!

First Laugh!!

Remy laughed for the first time this morning!!  It was the most wonderful, darling sound I've ever heard!  I brought him in front of the mirror so he could see himself and he laughed!  Gosh it was cute!  I've been spending the rest of my morning trying to get him to laugh again and he won't do it.

My darling boy.

2 Months!

Remy turned 2 months on Sunday and had his 2 month check-up yesterday.  Remy is weighing in at 12 lbs 14 oz (60%), is 25 in long (99%) and is healthy as a horse.  Seems like he is slowing down on his weight but still growing taller and taller like a weed!  Poor little guy had to get 3 shots and an oral.  He took the shots like a man!  Cried for just a minute or two.  Later that night he got pretty crabby and nothing seemed to sooth him until he went to bed.  But he's back to his normal self today.  I can't believe he's already 2 months old.  I only get 3 more weeks with him before I go back to work.  Sad... :(

My boy sure loves getting naked!
