Remy’s first Christmas was my very last day of maternity
leave. How sad… Christmas was lots of fun. He’s obviously not old enough to open
presents or even know what’s going on but it’s still fun to give him presents. He got lots of clothes, books and a few
toys. Spoiled rotten he is! We have one more Christmas celebration with
my mom’s side of the family this weekend and then it’s all over.

I went back to work the day after Christmas and leaving him
at daycare was one of the most difficult things I’ve had to do. My very good friend is doing his daycare so
that makes me feel better that I’m leaving him with someone I know and trust
completely BUT it wasn’t ME spending my day with him and it was very very
difficult to leave. The waterworks
started on Christmas and I cried all the way over to drop him off and all the
way to work. I was quite worried about
how he’d do without me and apparently he’s just fine! I probably miss him more than he misses
me. He’s taking a bottle just fine and
taking plenty of naps. I get pictures
and updates throughout the day so that helps. I miss him desperately but it’s getting a
little bit easier each day that goes by. Picking him up at 5:20 and only getting to
spend a few hours with him before he goes to bed is difficult. I sure wish there were more hours in the day! But I’ve got to work so I can bring home the
bacon…. Back to reality. :(
