Sandbox and guns!

Remy finally has his own sandbox!  Poor kid went from having almost zero outside toys to an awesome sandbox, a kiddo pool and a few toys.  Perhaps he'll have a swing set this summer?  Otherwise by next summer we'll get him and his baby brother/sister one.  I don't think he'd care much this year anyways.  I just told Phil I wanted a sandbox with a cover.  I showed him many different pictures and said I don't care how easy or difficult you make it as long as there's a cover.  Of course Phil can never do anything simple so he made the bench one I showed him.  Remy loves it and it should last through both kiddos just fine!  It still needs handles where you lift the cover but those seemed to get lost in the mix somehow.

Phil also brought Remy with him to Walmart yesterday and came home with 3 squirt guns.  Not just wimpy squirt guns either.  Haha.  Of course Remy picks the largest one.  He doesn't quite understand how to pump it and then shoot it so he just dunks the entire thing in his pool and runs after you with it.  It's pretty hilarious.   God I love this kid.  :)

We obviously need to do some landscaping in the backyard.... at least I pulled the weeds you see.  ;)

Willow River State Park

Saturday I took Remy to Willow River State Park and met up with friends there.  We got a season pass so now we can go there anytime we like.  It’s seems weird that such a beautiful place is only 15-20 miles from my house!  First we went to the lake/picnic area and let the kiddos run wild on the playground.  Remy just loves it.  He loves to be outside any chance he can get.  After a while we had lunch and then packed up to head on the trail to the falls.  I wanna say it was about an hour walk?  Such a beautiful hike but I could have done without the large hills.  Strollers and hills don’t mix well.  Good thing I have a good off-roading stroller.  ;)  Remy was in awe over the falls.  He kept saying “oh, wow”.  Such a cute kid.  After hanging out at the falls for a little bit we hiked all the way back.  Let me tell you.  That hike sure tires a pregnant gal out.  But it felt great to exercise and be outside.  I even got a little color on this white bod. :)  Can’t wait to drag Phil there for another day of hiking.

Promotion

Remy has exciting news to share!  He is being promoted to BIG BROTHER!!!  Yay!!!  Baby K#2 is due November 24, 2014.    They will be about 26 months apart, which is about what I was hoping for.  We are only planning to have two munchkins so it will be nice having them somewhat close in age but yet Remy should be old enough to understand more of what’s going on.  He obviously doesn’t understand now.  He pokes my little bump and says hi to baby but that’s because I tell him to say that.  Haha.  I’ve started a blog for the second munchkin.  http://futurebabyk.wordpress.com/  I wonder if he’ll have a baby brother or sister??  :)

Children's Museum

A few friends from my Monday crew wanted to go out and do something with the kids last weekend.  Of course I’m in.  We really need to get Remy out and about more often.  Rachel found a cheap children’s museum in Eau Claire and I have to say it was a hit!  Only $5 to get in and babies under 1 were free.  There was tons for the kids to look at and play with.  We mostly hung out in the “toddler” area where they could run wild.  Little did they know they were blocked in.  Muahahahahaha.  Let’s just say the kids had a blast.  And it is quite apparent that I need to get Remy out of the house more often.  The kid loved it.  Ran around screaming and laughing.  Just love seeing him so happy and playing with his cousins.  Of course I couldn’t get any good pictures because all the kiddos would not stop moving ever.  But here are some from the day.

Favorite Word

Fact:

Remy’s new favorite word is “uh-oh”.  He says uh-oh when he drops something, uh-oh when he falls, uh-oh when he hits the dogs, uh-oh when he purposely spills his milk on the coffee table or does anything else naughty.  Haha the kid says it a million times a day.

I'd have to say his second favorite word is "hi".   He has to say hi to the dogs constantly and always says hi when Phil or I enter the room.  He even says it to strangers when out and about.  So cute.  :)

Easter

Easter was this past weekend and Remy was old enough to have some fun this year!  The night before we dyed Easter eggs.  He wanted to dunk his entire hands in the dye of course so he ended up with one yellow hand.  We let him decorate all the eggs with little eyeballs and mouth stickers.  He loved it.  And then of course he got to eat one.  :)

Easter morning we had some French toast and then I “hid” Remy’s eggs for an egg hunt which lead to his basket.  He actually did a lot better than I thought! I should have hid them better.  He had to shake every single egg to make sure there was something inside.  When he found his basket he got even more excited.  “Ooooo” he said.  He got some matchbox cars, a new book, a set of pajamas, some toys for the sandbox and a stuffed duck because he loves to say “quack, quack”.  After playing with his new toys we headed outside because it was gorgeous out!  Even at 9:30 in the morning it was t-shirt weather.  Just gorgeous.  Remy absolutely loves being outside.  The kid would stay outside all day if you let him.

Then after nap we headed over to grandma’s for Easter with Phil’s side.  I think there were 13 of us.  We all brought yummy food and had a potluck.  After we ate the kids went outside for another Easter egg hunt.  Remy rocked it!  He was finding egg after egg and even after they were all gone he kept on searching.  His basket was so full and heavy but he wouldn’t let anyone else hold it.  He had a ton of fun and scored lots of little goodies.  He absolutely loved the bubbles.  He didn’t understand the concept of blowing on the wand and having bubbles come out and kept wanting to stick it in his mouth so we blowed the bubbles for him.  He kept chasing after all the bubbles laughing up a storm.
