3 Month Photos

I got Remy's 3 month pictures back today and they turned out absolutely perfect!  I cannot wait to order them and have new pictures sitting at my desk at work.  :)  As always, my talented friend Jess Arco took them and did an amazing job.  Gosh I just LOVE this sweet little boy!!!!

Yum yum!

We had our first attempt at solids the other day.  We decided to start with rice cereal.  Rem was not sure what to think about it.  Most of it ended up on his chin and his bib.  I'm not really sure if any of it actually went down.  Haha.  He was quite puzzled by the whole experience.  He didn't exactly push it out of his mouth, he just didn't swallow it and it just dribbled out.  Haha.  I think we'll just wait another week and try again.  Maybe we'll do this once a week until he gets used to the spoon, texture and taste.  Once he gets used to it and seems to want the rice cereal then we will start doing it every day.  We are in no hurry.  :)

Getting ready to eat my first bite of real food!

4 Months!

Remy turned 4 months old on Saturday and he had his 4 month check-up today.  He is now 15 lbs 10 oz (50-55%) and 27 inches long (99-100%).  My big string bean!  Doc said everything was a-okay.  He's a healthy baby!  We talked about starting solids and I think we'll do that soon.  Remy used to sleep through the night and for about the last month he's been waking up 1-2 times a night (most nights just once).  The last week he's been waking up 2 times a night.  I'm thinking he might just be in a growth spurt this last week but I'm hoping solids will maybe help him sleep through the night again.  Who knows.. maybe it will help, maybe it won't.  But doesn't hurt to start.  If he's interested then great!  If not, we'll wait another month and try again.  He's growing up so fast!!

In the last few weeks Remy has been wanting to interact with people more and more.  He loves to chat and smile at strangers.  He's also been wanting to "stand" a lot more so he loves his exosaucer and likes to sit in his bumbo.  He also likes to lay on his back so he can kick, kick, kick and throw his arms around.  Sometimes he's a mad man thrashing all over!  I would upload a video of his cuteness but my computer won't allow it atm and I'm too frustrated with it to try again.  He also loves to grab his feet.  I bet it won't be long until he wants to stick his toes in his mouth!

These are a few of my favorite things!

Gosh, this boy sure loves his TV.  His favorite show seems to be Sesame Street.  Doesn't he seem engrossed in episode 4?  Haha.

If you try to move in front of him or move him away from the TV his head follows it and sometimes he gets pissed.  I try to make sure we do other things with our time together.  We play in his play gym, his exosaucer, upstairs in his room reading books and playing with toys.  He enjoys all of these things but his favorite past time seems to be TV.

I've also noticed another favorite of his.  The letter R in his nursery above his changing table.  I swear.  I put him on his changing table to change his butt and he looks up, sees the letter R and gets a HUGE smile on his face and will sometimes chuckle at it. I'm not sure if it's the shape or the color yellow but he just loves it and he doesn't care about any of the other letters.

Remy loves to just hear me chat.  It doesn't matter what I'm saying or how I say it, he just loves it.  He thinks I'm funny.  :)  I'll take advantage of this while I can.

Remy's favorite toy is his blue ball.  It's the easiest toy to grab and stick right in his mouth.  He usually just sticks his tongue through the holes.

Remember when I was having a hard time getting Remy to take a bottle?  Well, now that we found the right bottles he loves them.  In fact, he usually refuses to nurse now that he knows he can have a bottle.  He lets me nurse him in the middle of the night, sometimes in the morning and maybe once in the evening.  It's kind of sad...  Nursing was one of the few things that only I could do with him.  It was our special time together.  Now I have to spend my day pumping...  Fun times.  But, he's worth it.  He always has to have his hands everywhere.  When he's tired he usually rubs his face and his hair.  It's so cute.  :)

My First Tooth!

Remy cut his first tooth yesterday!  I was quite surprised because that’s very early.  They say 4 months is early and he’s only 3 months and 1 week.  But I guess he’s going to be an early teether.  Lucky for me (said sarcastically).  I just hope he doesn’t bite me.  ;)

I knew something was up because he’s been extra drooly lately, has been waking up around 4 am to eat and has been a little more fussy at night before bed.  I checked his mouth the other day and there was nothing.  So I figured he was going through a growth spurt.  I went to pick him up from daycare last night and his auntie (also his daycare provider) found his tooth!  Like I said, I was surprised.  I bed Remy will be ready for solids before I am!  I’ve been thinking the last few days that I better get ready in case he starts showing signs of wanting solids.  Still have to buy a food processor and such.  I won’t introduce solids until he’s at least 4 months old of course and I’ll probably double check with his pediatrician at his 4 month check-up but I think he’ll be ready around that time.  I just can’t get over how fast he’s growing up.  His 4 month check up is in just over 3 weeks.  Soon enough he’ll be eating at the table with us!  Hmm… that means we better start actually eating at the table, not on the couch.  Haha.

Just showing daddy my new tooth!  Vader seems to like me these days.  He’s trying to lick the drool off my face.

Finally in a happy mood now that my tooth is cut!

3 Months!

My little man is 3 months old as of yesterday!  Time is sure flying by.  I probably say that a lot…  Remy is still doing great at daycare.  Seems to be happy and comes home happy.  He definitely has a set schedule I’ve noticed.  Lately he’s been going to bed around 8-9:00 so that means I only get to see him for 2 ½-3 ½ hours before bedtime.  Doesn’t seem like enough time!  He is sleeping through the night 90% of the time.  He doesn’t usually wake up until 6:30-7:00 a.m.  He’s just such a good baby!  He smiles all the time and every time I get my camera out to take a picture he stops smiling and just stares at the camera.  Haha.  I get a few smiles here and there but not his big ones!  And he’s laughing more and more.  I absolutely love to hear him laugh.  Phil still hasn’t gotten a laugh out of him.  I told him he just needs to be funnier!  He’s got his favorite toys and he loves to lay on his back and throw his legs up in the air and roll onto his sides.  He still hasn’t learned to roll over from his back to his tummy but I have a feeling that won’t be far away.

Leaning tower of Remy?  I think he's trying to lean to see around me.  I'm blocking the TV and Remy sure loves to watch TV.

My happy boy with his favorite toy!
